Chicago / Mackinac Island Race Coverage Comments

Our 1995 Chicago/Mackinac coverage is now starting to wind down. We will continue to provide updates and news from the Island as it comes to our attention. We will also provide stories and pictures of the often trying race before you can ever read about it in the magazines. Be sure to also check out the results area of this page for official results as they are made available to us.

This was the first year of Chicago / Mackinac coverage on the World Wide Web and my first year of providing real time race coverage for any sailing event. We appreciate the comments that have came in so far. I am interested in both positive and negative feedback. If you used this page during (or after the race) please let me know. Without your input we have no way of knowing what you thought about the service.

So far the comments have been very positive and a real encouragement. Some of the E-Mail has also gave us suggestions on how we could have improved our service. Among the suggestions:

• Weather from spotters that is more sail oriented and less general.
• More frequent updates from the shore, or possibly from escort boats.
• Better reporting on call in status.
• More pre race information

We appreciate your comments and look forward to better and more complete coverage in 1996. We are already planning for our coverage. Continue to watch this page as we rap up 1995 and sail into 96. Remember also . . . we will be happy to provide your race results to the Internet community on the Web.
